“Ports of Call for the USS Liberty”
I am thrilled to be a part of the Arts Trail through Chapin project organized by the Crooked Creek Art League. It was a lot of work, but I had fun creating this trail marker which I titled “Ports of Call for the USS Liberty”. It is a tribute to the countless men and women who have served in the various military branches of the United States. Their dedication and sacrifice have been responsible for the continued successful voyage of the good ship "Liberty." It can be found at the Chapin Town Hall through this Sunday evening and it will be on auction with the other markers at the Chapin Labor Day Festival Monday Sept 6, 2021.
About the Artwork:
As a lifelong artist, I have always greatly enjoyed the process of planning a project, beginning working on it, and watching as it emerges. Mistakes and miscalculations don't bother me because finding solutions are important in becoming proficient and establishing a work ethic. As with many things, the more one has to correct, the sooner you achieve a practiced eye and the confidence to move forward in your artistic endeavors.
